Writing with Aqsarniit

Stories are all around us—but most youth are never taught how to capture them with purpose.

Writing with Aqsarniit is a hands-on photography and storytelling program where youth learn to use cameras and drones to document real moments, tell visual stories, and build creative skills rooted in their environment. Inspired by the Northern Lights (Aqsarniit), participants learn how to shoot with intention, frame powerful images, and turn their work into something meaningful.

• Aqsarniit 101 – Camera Basics: Learn how to use a camera, understand light, framing, and composition, and capture clear, intentional photos.

• Aqsarniit 102 – Visual Stories & Intro to Business: Create photo stories while learning how photography connects to branding, content creation, and small business.

• Aqsarniit 103 – Filmmaking & Creative Careers: Plan, shoot, and present visual projects while exploring business pathways in media, filmmaking, and creative industries.
